There are three main types of showers available: electric, mixer valve and all-in-one power showers.
Thermostatic showers control the temperature of the water and are very stable. The upper water temperature can be fixed to avoid scalding. Electric showers only heat the water that they use and are therefore very efficient. Mixer valves use the existing hot and cold water which may come from the storage tank, hot water cylinder or from a combination boiler. Mixer valves can be coupled with a pump which then becomes a power shower.
Harpers Plumbers offer various types of shower enclosures and arrangements to ensure you’re safe and comfortable while using your bathroom. Keep reading to find out more about each type of shower we have available.
Level Access Showers
Also known as walk-in showers, there is no need to step over an obstacle to get into these showers. Trip hazards are virtually eliminated and fitting them with non-slip flooring can help prevent slipping. Grab rails, shower seats and half-height shower doors can also be added.
Easy Access Shower Enclosures
The shower trays of these step-in showers are lowered so you can effectively “step into” the shower itself; there’s no need to step over anything and risk your safety to enjoy a shower!
Half-Height Enclosure Doors
A carer or helper can help you get into the shower without having to enter the showering area themselves with these doors. A variety of designs is available depending on your needs and preferences.
Temporary Shower Cubicle
If you’ve suffered an injury or you’re going through the rehabilitation process, you may need a mobility shower installed on a temporary basis. Without disrupting the normal design of your bathroom, we can install a surface-mounted or level access shower cubicle nearly anywhere, including your bedroom to create an en-suite facility.
